Marc Valois is a Principal and Senior Consultant of The Intersol Group.  Marc has delivered strategic and business planning, participative public consultation, group facilitation and conflict resolution/mediation services to a number of clients in both the public and private sectors.  He has over 25 years of experience and has led a variety of projects including the provision of engagement strategies in support of multi-stakeholder expert advisory committees, strategic planning, change management, organizational transformation and program and policy development for clients at the most senior levels of government, including Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Assistant Deputy Ministers. Marc has led hundreds of projects, his work has included designing and conducting Ministerial Round Tables for Parks Canada Agency, a national stakeholder consultation on behalf of Natural Resources Canada for the renewal of the National Forestry Strategy, designing and facilitating strategy meetings on behalf of the RCMP and the Department of Justice to develop and maintain continuing commitments to the anti-smuggling initiatives across Canada and designing and delivering several multi-stakeholder consultations on behalf of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada to develop new regulations appropriate to the Canadian context.

Marc has designed and facilitated multi-stakeholder workshops, which were often held in locations across Canada. Each event often brought together representation from various perspectives and interests of the population, including consumers, industry representatives, special interest groups, academia, provincial government representatives and others.   As project leader and lead facilitator, Marc Valois is an extremely dynamic and effective group “architect”, facilitator and “enabler” for Executive dialogue in both official languages.  Marc’s knowledge of government and process techniques in designing group meetings in challenging circumstances has contributed to shaping executive-level conversations focused on results.

Over the past several years, Marc has incorporated the use of online engagement technologies in his work. These online spaces have offered his clients the potential for greater reach and higher levels of engagement as participants enjoy a high degree of flexibility to connect “anytime, anyplace”, and can connect with a broader range of perspectives and ideas than they would through traditional face-to-face interaction. These spaces can allow for participants to voice opinions, exchange ideas, and arrive at conclusions and decisions through reflective deliberation, at a much lower cost per input than traditional methods.
